Who remembers Mawmaw’s old cedar chest?

Even if you can’t line an entire closet with cedar planks or panels, there are easy ways to use cedar to protect your keepsakes. Many of us have treasured family keepsakes from weddings or christenings made of delicate fibers such as angora, lace or silk. You know that cedar repels bugs and keeps your clothes and accessories safe from little critters, but just WHAT are you avoiding when you install cedar closets? In short – holey clothes.

Cedar has been shown to be effective in repelling moths, roaches and silverfish – not exactly the types of visitors you want invading your closets.
