DIY Cedar-Planked Christmas Trees
Amanda Hendrix from Love & Renovations has partnered with CedarSafe again to bring you an all-new cedar project!
Amanda, like us here at Cedarsafe, absolutely loves the holidays, and was inspired to create some cedar-inspired decorations of her own.
Amanda created these super simple cedar-planked Christmas trees – they’re super cute, easy to create, and can be adjusted to fit any sized area!
Materials Needed:
- 3/4″ Plywood (I used some scrap from an old project, but a half sheet should be more than enough)
- CedarSafe Cedar Planks
- Wood Glue
- Brad nailer
- Orbital sander (or table saw – read on to see what method you’d like to use!)
- 1X2 wood (Use whatever is easiest – we had some pine leftover from another project so I used that!)
- White stain
Amanda started out creating the base shape, using the plywood to create your triangle tree shape.
From there, create different sizes (or your own forest!) with additional plywood, creating the best sizes that fit your space and preference.
Use an angle finder to determine the angle of your tree, and then use a saw to cut the planks to the right size.
Use wood glue or small nails to attach the planks to the base!
Amanda added framing to her trees, but you could add more planking to the side, moulding, or whatever else suits your design inspiration!
